Pictures Wanted
Colour-Rail is always interested in taking new pictures into its collection and so if you have black & white negatives or colour slides (or know someone who does) and are looking for a good home for these, please contact us.
The slides and negatives have irreplaceable images of our transport history, and it is important that they are preserved for posterity and can be made available to future generations. Many of us are reluctant to part with our cherished memories and they lie in a cupboard or loft for many years, unfortunately in many cases until it is too late. The images have either deteriorated beyond recovery or those who are responsible for sorting out our affairs after we have gone to the big loco shed in the sky simply consign them to the bin. Particularly in the case of negatives, if you have the print, will you ever use the negative again and with slides perhaps you now have these scanned onto your computer?
Modern technology allows us to use slides and negatives which have started to deteriorate so please never assume that anything is too bad to be of interest- please let the experts take a look. Unfortunately, poorly stored negatives and slides start to deteriorate very quickly. If you do decide to hold on to your slides and negatives, ensure they are stored in a cool, dry, dark and dust free environment.
Rest assured that if you decide to allow Colour-Rail to take care of your irreplaceable images that they will be safe and secure for future generations to see and enjoy.
In the first place please e-mail colourrail@aol.com or write to us at 558 Birmingham Road, Bromsgrove, B61 0HT.
